As some of you may already know, VMware has started to offer VCDX remote defense for “returning players”. Being able to pass it, few questions came at my direction regarding the process and the experience so I thought why not to share.
One of the changes made last year by the VCDX program team is the need to document your changes if you are resubmitting for another attempt.
This post is all about Quizlet which I’ve used during my second VCDX defense. It helped me be more focus, less stressful and gave me a lot more confidence.
After my first unsuccessful VCDX attempt in last October and during these past 10 months, I worked my ass off on being successful. The thing is that although I was the one defending, I had an incredible support system and for those who were part of it I should and want to express my gratitude.
Finally, after 2 years of hard work I can say it – I am a VCDX! After a successful second defense (and the first one to pass a remote defense), “Operation Second Shot” is over. I got the email last Friday stating I am VCDX-CMA #230
After I talked a bit about family and friends support and shared with you some of my prep time management experience, I would like to share with you few more tips that helped me. Chris also wrote a post around his thoughts regarding the troubleshooting scenario removal. I totally agree with this move and I recommend you read the post. Now, that I don’t [Read More]
In the previous post around my last VCDX attempt story, I talked about the amount of support which was given to me by my wife and the vCommunity. Now, let’s talk about some of the things around the defense preparations. Vacation After submitting the docs, I took 3 days off, regrouped and started working on my slides. Taking only 3 days off is not ideal but knowing wife and I are about to go to an 8 days vacation in Switzerland mid-September, I wasn’t too worried about burning out. This vacation was in the right place at the right time after [Read More]
Let me open by saying that getting Karl’s email on a Friday morning saying I wasn’t able to pass my VCDX defense this time around was a kick in the nuts – no sugar coating, it’s simple as that. I really hoped that my first VCDX post will be around success but sometimes it is what it is, no worries, this just makes me more motivated! For me, the VCDX journey is far from being over as I’m definitely going to take another shot at this bad boy next year. Although this post can easily become a collection of cliches I will [Read More]
